one of Santa Barbara’s most colorful episodes. It begins in 1874, when a
group of local businessmen formed the Seaside Hotel Company to provide a

The Civic Ballet of San Luis Obispo
submitted Articles of Incorporation to the State of California in July
of 1978. In December of that year, the Company premiered “The
Nutcracker,” under the direction of our founder and Artistic Director
Emeritus, Lori Silvaggio. The Civic Ballet has since presented to the
community twenty eight seasons of sold-out performances, featuring guest
artists as well as the company’s own incredibly talented dancers.
