Enjoy but be Careful!
Miracle Miles for Kids is run on a scenic 6.2 mile stretch of flat
beach. The tide is low and the sand compact with kilometer and mile
markers to help measure progress. Depending on the season’s
rainfall, the course may include several water crossing areas at
which bridges are provided for those who wish to keep their feet
dry. If participants become dehydrated, sustain an injury or just
need a break, they can take advantage of the mid-course Water/First
Aid Station.
Please be mindful that there is a rocky point to cross 2.5 miles
into the course. Follow the cones for the safest and quickest route.
There will be spotters available to help guide participants through
this brief piece of the course.
The Family Care Network, Inc. is partnering with the State of
California in an effort to preserve the beauty of our beaches and
protect the Snowy Plover Bird. This endangered bird makes its home
on the Central Coast beaches. To help in this effort, please adhere
to the following requirements while participating in this event:
1. Please do not bring dogs or kites to the event as they are not
allowed on State Park beaches.
2. Please stay clear of the soft sand area and sand dunes located on
the right side of the course as this is where Snow Plovers make
their home.
3. Please do not leave trash, water bottles, etc. on the beach at
any time.
