Central Coast News & Reviews

Come to the Monarch Butterfly preservation park and you will smell the delicious smell of eucalyptus that wafts through the air.  You will also here the waves of the sea  because the beach is just a short walk from this protected habitat of the beloved and endangered Monarch Butterfly.    Here are some pictures of the park and the beautiful trails that have created so that anyone can enjoy this well preserved area.

You can bring a picnic there are picnic benches available.  But I always opt for having our picnics at the nearby beach.  I love the vast rolling dunes and the perfect sand pipers.  The dunes are their nesting grounds so I always try to have minimal foot traffic on them.  Also bring a kite because the wind here is optimal for them.  If you don't own a kite there a plenty of them down town in all of the gift shops.

Please note Docents of the park ask that you never disturb or touch the butterflies in any way.  Also stay on the provided paths at all times.  And that you always leave with what you came with in other words don't leave your trash on the beach, I always bring an extra plastic bag for trash!

The Monarch Butterfly park.

The short trail that takes you to the beach.  The trail runs along side the campground.

The beautiful dunes and beach.

The view of Pismo Pier from the dunes.

And some random pictures of my babies!
