THE IMPORTANCE OF ORGANIC

Obviously our society has fallen in love with organic produce. Because the industry is growing 20 percent per year because of people who believe the produce is healthier and healthier for the environment because of how it's grown.

I know that I taste the difference in carrots that are organic from the ones that are non organic. Also I have found that non organic lettuce tastes bitter while organic lettuce tastes buttery and bursts with water.

The cost of the organics is higher but is well worth it. You are protecting the environment as well as having the satisfaction of knowing that your allowing your body to consume the very best available.

I started growing my own lettuce in half wine barrels. And my kids love eating it. They grub it. Their favorite thing to do is snap off the baby lettuce leaves while I water them and just eat them right then and there without any salad dressing. Also they love helping me plant all sorts of goodies. What kid doesn't love getting dirty!

So I will keep you posted as to my progress and money saved from growing my own Organic veggies on my back porch in wine barrels!
