Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of
dining at the Bistro le Fandango with Hillary we were seated upon
our request by the windows. I thought that the photographs on
the walls gave the space a very homey-artsy feel.
Upon Hillary's request I agreed to try
the escargot appetizer which with some coaxing on Hillary's part
turned out to be amazing and I loved the usage of parsley in this
dish. The sauce in this appetizer was delicious. And I
highly recommend it.
While deciding upon my entree I was
delighted to see the variety of Vegetarian Options available on the
menu. Yet I chose the special of Pumpkin and artichoke Ravioli
in a curry sauce however I opted for a butter/Parmesan sauce
instead.
My Dinner was fantastic
unfortunately Hillary had to send her dish back 2 times because it
had not been cooked properly making it an awkward dining experience.
But overall the food and atmosphere was fantastic.

Well last night Gabrielle and I went
to dinner at Bistro le Fandango the first piece of advice I can give
you is sit next
to the windows at the front of this adorable little restaurant with
it’s long bar and cozy atmosphere. The
picture windows give a nice view of Higuera St. and especially on
Thursday nights you can watch the hustle and bustle of Farmer’s
Market go by while you are dining.
That aside we sat down and waited for
our server I ordered the glass of Beaujolais which I felt was a nice
wine for the $6 by the glass price tag, then settled in, for what
would become par for the course throughout the evening, to wait for
our server to come back. It took some time to get anything however,
once the bread and butter came it was quite delicious. A very crusty
on the outside and soft on the inside baguette style cut loaf with
fresh butter. We ordered the escargot appetizer; I found it to be
tasty but a bit heavy handed on the parsley.
For dinner
I ordered the bifteck avec frites
otherwise known as Steak and French fries; I ordered the steak
medium rare. When it finally arrived it was cooked medium well to
very well done in some places and when I brought it to my server’s
attention she took my steak
back to the kitchen...meanwhile Gabrielle already had her meal. A
while later my steak arrived and once again I cut into it to find it
now seared on the outside and raw on the inside. Once again I called
the server over who promptly got the manager. He came took the steak
back and they cooked it for a 3rd time. The steak
came back to me perfectly Medium rare, sadly by this time my
Beaujolais was in its final stages; I had been hoping to try a food
pairing here but alas it wasn’t to be.
We opted not to have dessert for 2
reasons.... 1) time, the service had taken so long that we almost
missed shopping the Farmers Market ourselves and 2) we are both
watching our girlish figures however Bistro le Fandango does have a
nice variety of decadent desserts which I have sampled previously.
The
food once they got it right was delicious.
My Suggestion regarding eating at
Bistro le Fandango is don’t go overly hungry the service takes awhile and don’t go when you’re in a hurry, wait until you
have plenty of time on your hands to enjoy your dining experience.
I found the prices to be reasonable.

Zero Wine glasses- We would rather get
the 2 for 1 hotdog special at AM/PM.

One Wine Glass- We would rather stay
home and make a salad.

Two Wine Glasses- Just OK we might
bring the kids.

Three Wine
Glasses- The food was great the service was slightly disappointing
but overall passable. (Or vice versa).

Everything was excellent we will bring the Hubbies again and again.

Beyond
Comparison! Wonderful, Exquisite, Divine! We'd rather eat here
